The Tercha – Sodo; Lot 1: Sodo – Omo River road is part of the link road which connects the Addis Ababa – Jimma and Addis Ababa – Sodo trunk roads. The project road starts at km 328kms from Addis Ababa which is 4km before reaching Sodo town and branches to the right from the Addis Ababab – Butajira – Sodo road. The total project road length is 75km. The project is aimed at upgrading the existing gravel surface to asphalt concrete standard, while the geometric design is made on DS-4 ERA 2002 Standard. The road will have a 7m carriageway and 1.5m shoulder on both sides in rural section while in town sections the carriageway and parking lane is 12/ 14m in total. Town sections will have pedestrian walkway and side ditches on both sides of the road.
The Alemketema - Degolo road project is located in central part of the country within north Shewa and South Welllo zone of the Amhara Regional State. The road has 85 km length and expected to be design to paved road standard. It connects Alemketema with Degolo town through Meragnatown as intermediate point. The project alignment starts at the center of Alemketema town which is about 120km from A.A. along Addis-Muketuri-Alemketema road. The project road administratively crosses three weredas, namely, Merhabete and MidaWoromo in North Shewa and Jamawereda in South Wollo Administrative zone. In the above weredas, there are six towns crossed by the project road; namely, AlemKetema, Tegora, Meragana, Behra, Webera and Degolo.
The Jihur-Zemero-Degolog-Guguftu road project is located in the Central part of Ethiopia, approximately 216 km from Addis Ababa. The area is served by the road which lies on the southern border area of Amhara Region. It passes through Jamma and Wereillu weredas. The project road is an existing damaged gravel track of 140 KM in length and the overall road section is now found in poor condition which requires immediate rehabilitation or upgrading. The terrain along the route varies from mountainous.
